Once, on a scarlet dawn,
I stood before the turquoise sea,
The sun didn't wake till then---
Only a hue,
On the eastern sky...
The roaring waves,
The fading horizon,
The chirping gulls,
The morning breeze,
And me....

The last night passed,
In a familiar trance
Of dusty, mundane thoughts..
Fighting with the shadows of love...an enchanting trap,
And deadly knots,
The children of my desire!

A thousand voices yelled at me,
My soul was not in peace....
My satanic mind with all crooked plans,
Yet, I couldn't make the two ends meet!
I could hear myself,
So loud and clear, conspiring against my world,
One fist opened to freedom...
''Close the other''--my Satan snarled.

But Oh! The moment I stood on the shore!!
The quake in me disappeared...
All drowned in the blue of the horizon...
And inner peace unveiled.

My lord stood before my tired eyes,
At the darkened nook of my heart,
My shattered self touched His feet,
As sun bathed His face... so bright,

A lily amidst a desert!!!
His gentle voice,
His serene tone,
Harped a soothing tune,
His words touched my distressed soul.....
''Let greed and grief not touch your heart,
Let it be calm and pure, my child,
It's the only truth to recall.''
