Dostoevsky said "consciousness is a disease...", I think it is not about consciousness, it's seriousness. The seriousness of consciousness blocks consciousness to flow. I, You are consciousness. Whenever we are serious about ourselves that means we are serious about our conscious being.
But life is not all about consciousness. Consciousness plays very little role in life. Life is segmented between consciousness and unconsciousness. Consciousness occupies the small one. Unconsciousness comes with emotion, sentiment, feelings etc. When we force ourselves to do something, to feel something, to think something we are in the short zone of life that is consciousness. Which is finite, a confinement with known. When we release ourselves, when we become passive, unconscious mind occupies us. We can observe passively various thoughts, emotions, images, wishes, dreams, anger, pain, joy - floating from an unknown source towards an unknown direction. We are not to judge, we are not to panic, we are not to have a stronghold on it. We need to be just nothing, no-one. Not identity-less, but free from any kind of identity.
We can't prove everything. Argument, logic has its limitations. To understand this is our wisdom. We will have to relax our consciousness as we relax our muscles. We will have to free ourselves from self-imposed conditions, prejudices, goals. Conscious mind is corrupted with sense of competition, whereas unconscious mind isn’t corrupted it till now. But unfortunately, it is trying to occupy the unconscious mind slowly and creating pathological anxiety and panic, poisoning the very root of inner life - the unconscious mind.
The first thing we need to do is to try to make a path between conscious and unconscious mind. When the unconscious mind is free to express itself as it is, the conscious mind remains agile. An agile conscious mind has full attention on its surroundings as it is not cut off from its source of inspiration i.e. unconscious mind.
Someone may ask is it not risky to unchain the unconscious mind and to set it free? The answer is a grand NO. It is a fear rather baseless fear that is occupying us for many centuries that evil is synonymous to the unconscious mind. Please don’t forget all the greatest examples of art, literature, to some extent some brilliant scientific formulas have taken their shape from the unconscious mind, but the fear has gifted the society with some heinous unkind ignorant tyranny of religion, superstition, astrology, Fensui etc, extreme examples of human stupidity. So it is our first duty to set free our unconscious mind and releasing the seriousness from its duty of sentry. We don’t need any vigilance anymore, the vigilance of God, the vigilance of moral policing, the vigilance of culture, vigilance of heavyweight personalities etc. It is enough, we have done with them with a chaotic hypocrite society. It’s time to flow, to go deep within our own existence and trying to touch the bottom of our own self. It is full of life, agility, kindness, love and spontaneity if there is no fear, no vigilance, no pollution of competition.
Today is the anti suicidal day. It is not a day to celebrate, to make a campaign etc. It is a day to remind us to check the tyranny of intellect over wisdom, self-love over kindness and self-obsession over natural flow of life. Let life play with us with its uncountable emotions, feelings both pleasant and unpleasant, and let our consciousness accept it’s challenge with full of its attention and agility. Let life prevails.
